Research career in Fisheries Sciences since 1978: <br /> 1978-1983 National Institute for Fisheries research (PT), integrated in the Stock Assessment Department working on the Norway lobster stock; <br /> 1983-1990 University of Rhode Island, as research assistant, teaching assistant and graduate student, with experience in teaching in international programs in the US and abroad (statistics and fisheries science) and research mostly related with establishment of data bases and data analysis; <br /> 1990-present University of Algarve, teaching statistics for undergraduate and graduate students and fisheries science courses. Research projects in the area of fisheries management and conservation, in particular biology and age estimation in decapods. Recent interests and projects focused on fisheries impacts and conservation of exploited ecosystems.&nbsp;
